In some cultures, your future is predicted by the grounds left at the bottom of your coffee cup.

I wonder what my future holds?

For anything and everything to do with airline meals go to airlinemeals.net.

You can browse thousand of photos that people upload of their airline meals, get info on special menus, find out what the crew eats and even see menu cards. There is also a behind the scenes section regarding airline food preparation.

Although the website has not been updated since 2007, airlines usually do not change meals that often so the website is still applicable.

Check them out at airlinesmeals.net (sorry, the linking feature is not accesible since I am on the road and not at my computer).

Range Roamer

mobile.jpg

When traveling international, taking your home mobile is usually not the most economical route to take if you expect to make a fair amount of calls.

Most US providers charge around $1 a minute to receive calls when in Europe and much more when traveling elsewhere.  Outgoing calls cost even more.

A solution to this problem is to rent a mobile from Range Roamer.  The calls get routed through a computer so that the cost of making and receiving calls is dramatically reduced.

On this trip we are using a Range Roamer phone.  So far the call quality on our end is good, but in the US the comments have ranged from crystal clear…..to super loud static.
But at $0.00 to receive (if the caller calls the mobile’s UK number)…..a few static calls every once in a while is fine by me. They also provide a toll free number for your phone as well so that you get charged for the calls instead of the caller.

carry-on.jpg

It is a good idea to also place a luggage tag on your carry-on.

You never know when your bag might get seperated from you (like accidentally leaving it on the plane), and without a tag it can never find it’s way home.

I guess you can train it to leave behind a trail of breadcrumbs as well : )

The journey begins….

So the adventure begins with a bang…….Air France Espace Premiere (first class)…..thanks to American Express….I will now really “never leave home without it”.
From the moment we got off the car at LAX, we had an attendant catering to our every whim……I never even touched my bag once….it just miraculously vanished from the car and I was latter given a claim ticket (hope it arrives).

Once on board our jaws dropped when we saw our seats….more like cabins!  But the seat was just the beginning……with in seconds we were given a Christan Lacroix pajama and slippers to change into, champagne and incredible “mise en bouche” (fancy little finger foods).
After dinner our seats were transformed into beds with duvet and all.  I tucked into bed watched a movie, and what felt like seconds later, awoke in London.
