If you were to loose your passport while traveling, having a good copy of it can speed up the replacement process significantly.

Other than leaving a copy of your passport at home with a friend, you should also consider placing one in your suitcase. 

If the airlines decides to send your bag on it’s own vacation to Egypt, while you are on your way to Italy….this passport copy will help the airline decipher who the mysterious bag riding on a camel belongs to.
