Nobody walks in LA

Posted by Staff in California, Tours to Consider

Long ago when life was glamourous, going to the movies was an event.  Movie theaters were called “movie palaces” and there were no 20 screen cineplexes.

If you follow my advice and stay at Stay in downtown Los Angeles….consider taking the Broadway Theatre District Walking Tour, home to twelve of the most elaborately flamboyant movie palaces in existence.

The walking tours are held by the Los Angeles Conservancy and happen every Saturday at 10am ($10 per person).  For more info click here

During the Tour de France they offer an 8 day intermediate level tour that allows you the opportunity to conquer some of the most famous climbs and descents of the world.  For those novice cyclists, they also offer many beginning itineraries.

Mike’s Bike Tour in Munich

Posted by Staff in Germany, Tours to Consider

Many years ago when I backpacked Europe, I had the pleasure of roaming Munich with Mike’s Bike Tour.

While cruising the internet I was happy to discover they are still around!

If you are visiting Munich you must take their tour, it is hands down the best way to see the highlights of the city in one afternoon.  The tour is on paved roads/path and is not strenuous, so do not fear my little couch potatoes.

The tour is inexpesive, costing 24€ (including the bike) and 18€ for backpackers (must be staying at one of the hostels on their list).

No reservations are required, just show up at the meeting spot at the designated time (times vary so see their website).
