Although many people consider the ritual of shopping for vacation clothes necessary…you might want to focus on new clothes and not shoes…a vacation is not the place to break-in new footwear.

I must admit I have not followed my own advice in the past and my poor feet paid the price dearly, and my travel plans needed to be altered once I became chair bound due to bad blisters.

Do yourself a favor and travel with old shoes!

Airplane Ear is the horrible pressure (and pain) that some people feel in their ears when they fly. If you are like me, Airplane Ear can sometimes continue when you get off the plane and ruin a trip.

A tip a doctor once told me to avoid Airplane Ear is to NOT sleep when the plane starts to descend. According to the Mayo Clinic, this allows you to make sure you’re swallowing enough to keep your ears clear.

When flying with a small pet in the cabin, many people tell you to give them a sedative to calm them down.

But after doing some research I’ve found that to be nicht-nicht (as Bruno would say).

Turns out the most common sedative, Acepromazine, lowers your pet’s blood pressure and temperature, making it more difficult for them to deal with the elevation change….and this could lead to death!

So think twice if someone is trying to drug up your baby pre-flight……and yes that picture above is of my little princess, Manola.
