Future of Luxury
On Monday I reported on a destination club in “Becoming partially fabulous” ……and today I received some news about another destination club planning on rocking the luxury travel world, Quintess.
Quintess has been Awarded the “Best of the Best” Mid-Sized Destination Club by Robb Report (luxury gurus) for three years in a row. The club has announced that it is investing $210 million into acquiring more properties to it’s portfolio of 70+ multi-million-dollar vacation homes.
Among its new purchases is the seven-bedroom Villa Tavernacia set on a 1,200-acre estate in Tuscany, where the club already has three residences.
So those who think that staying in a five star hotel is glamourous, I have news for you….hotels are so passé…you’ve got to stay in a villa to impress me!

Sky yacht
Yachting will take on a new meaning in the future once the Aeoscraft sky yacht takes flight.
The Aeroscraft, which is currently in development, is a cousin of the airship….or blimp as we call it on the streets.
But don’t mistake this for the Goodyear publicity mobile that holds only a handful of guests; the Aeroship is set to have a 5,382 square foot cabin that can be configured as a flying office….private home away from home….or a super cool tourist attraction.
Aeros Corportation, the genius behind the fantasy, is currently building the first concept model. The prototype will be 211 feet long and is slated for completion in approximately 2.5 years. Using adjustable buoyant dynamic lift, Aeros will be able to develop a lightweight airship that can actually carry a significant load.
“This remarkable idea grew out of the belief that there is a more comfortable way to fly than simply applying a luxury upgrade to an existing airframe and re-naming it,” says their representative.
If you have some extra cash burning a hole in your pocket visit their website, aerosml.com, and sign up to be one of the first owners of this big boy toy.

At 185m, this $500 million island hotel features a total floor area of 200,000m² and over 350 luxury suites. Access to this exclusive 7 Star resort is restricted to water (yacht) and air (helicopter) only.
For the ultimate in arrival and departure style, yachts can moor in the heart of the building’s core. The Apeiron is the definitive James Bond retreat, boasting its own private lagoon, beaches, restaurants, art gallery, luxury shopping, cinemas, spas and conference facilities. Its dramatic silhouette on the horizon creates a completely unique architectural icon that will be instantly recognised worldwide.
But don’t get too excited as this hotel is just a design waiting for a madman to make it a reality……stay tooned

The days of living like the Jetsons are getting closer and closer. Yves Rossy, who calls himself Fusionman (but looks like Buzz Lightyear), successfully crossed the English Channel….flying from Calais, France to the cliffs of Dover, England in 13 minutes this past Friday.
Yves Rossy is a Swiss commercial airline pilot and has been working on this project since 2001. The dream started with an original prototype developed with Jet-Cat a german model jet engine company. The jetpack was fine tuned and perfected in the following years, ending in today’s model which has a wingspan of ten feet, jet engines, and a full tank allowing him to fly just over ten minutes.
Friday’s flight began with a skydive from a plane 8,800 feet over Calais. The 22 mile journey ended with Rossy opening his parachute and safely gliding down to earth (Dover to be exact).
Now for the million dollar question…..I wonder when these jetpacks will go for sale? For more info visit Rossy’s website jet-man.com
