Avia Spa
Avia Spa, located in the Californian resort town of Santa Barbara, calls themselves “The East West Sanctuary”….I could think of no better way to describe the spa. The popular day spa attracts customers from all over who come for the unique blend of Asian and Western spa services. The service menu is large and varied. If you are looking for a massage you have choices ranging from a traditional swedish, a Hawaiian dance, Japanese shiatsu, Thai massage or even the Indian Abhyanga massage. The facials and other treatment offer an equally varied “world tour” of treatments. My favorite treatment is the “Salt Stone Aromatic Glow”…..you’ll spent the day after the treatment caressing you new baby-soft skin.

Travel tip of the day….
Confirm your flight the day before! It is cheaper for airlines to have a few angry customers than to have a half empty flight and waste jet fuel. And now with the price of fuel, expect cancellations to happen more. Save yourself the misery of arriving at the airport and finding out your flight has been nixed.

Massaud Manned Cloud
Ever dreamed of vacationing in the Goodyear blimp? Well don’t worry, your not the only one with that dream….turns out french designer Jean-Marie Massaud had an epiphany of a blimp-hotel. The Manned Cloud would be a 40 guest hotel cruising the sky and have the usual cruise amenities: restaurants, spa, library and gym. The hotel would be two stories with a sun deck on top of the double helium-filled envelopes….suntanning for the brave!
But don’t get too excited dear blimp lovers, this idea is still in it’s conceptual phase. For more information you can go to Massaud’s website then click on “design” then click on “transport”. It’s a beautiful idea to think that air travel one day won’t be about the destination but about the experience itself.
