Which Airline Credit card is the best?

Posted by Staff in Ask the Editor

This week, John from San Diego asks:

“Which Airline Credit card is the best?”

Michelle says:

Rather than being tied into one airline with an airline specific credit card, I prefer to earn miles on my American Express. With Amex points you can transfer them to any of their partner airlines, usually at a 1-to-1 basis.  Amex is partners with many airlines, hotels, etc…..so your points go much further than if you are stuck with a specific airlines card. Click here to see a list of all their partner airlines…

A great website that has tons of packages for skiing Europe is igluski.com

Ask Michelle….

This week, Jackie from Portland asks:

“Why don’t people realize that regardless of the “order” they get on the plane, they’re all headed to the same destination and departing at the same time? (i.e. those who are in line to board the plane, and the line raps around a few times when you could every well just be sitting down reading, listening to ipod or better yet, people judge? I mean watch?)”

Michelle says:

The reason people fight to get on first is that overhead storage is limited and on a first come-first serve basis…..and now with airlines charging for luggage, the fight is even more intense.

Although I agree that getting on in order is a nice idea, I understand why people get pushy to get a prime space in overhead cargo.

Ask Michelle…..

This week, Sarah from Dallas asks:

“What is a quick and easy way to find a cheap flight without having to check several websites?”

If I have to do a quick search and can only check one website, I usually uses Kayak.com.  Kayak searches several of the travel search engines (like Orbtiz) and also searches the individual airline websites….so you get a good idea of prices with only one search.
